Celebrating Our Authors

St. Augustine's Seminary of Toronto is marking a landmark in faculty publications. Four professors have had books published recently, spanning a rich diversity of topics. Spirituality, scripture, history and preaching are opened up for the reader in accessible and fresh perspectives.

The four recent books are:

Extraordinary Ordinaries: A History of the Bishops of the Archdiocese of Toronto by Rev. Séamus Hogan.

Experts in Humanity: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Healing by Dr. Josephine Lombardi.

Proclaiming in a New Season: A Practical Guide to Catholic Preaching for the New Evangelization by Rev. Mr. Peter Lovrick.

The Christ of the Apocalypse: Contemplating the Faces of Jesus in the Book of Revelation by Msgr. A. Robert Nusca.

The books are available from Novalis (Hogan, Lombardi, Lovrick) and Pauline Books (Nusca).

These recent books by our professors reflect the extensive formation program offered by St. Augustine's Seminary, which includes an active Institute of Theology for lay women and men, as well as formation for candidates for priesthood and the permanent diaconate. In addition to classroom teaching and writing, these faculty members are regular keynote speakers, retreat leaders and workshop facilitators at events offered by the seminary to the general public.  St. Augustine's Seminary congratulates Fr. Hogan, Dr. Lombardi, Deacon Lovrick and Monsignor Nusca on the addition of these fine works to the spiritual literature available to today's Christian faithful.

Dr. Josephine Lombardi's book was awarded First Place in the Family Life category of the 2017 Catholic Press Association Book Awards.
