ST. Augustine’s Seminary Library

The library at St. Augustine’s Seminary will follow all of the protocols required by the University of Toronto Libraries. The most recent of these protocols can be found on the following website: https://onesearch.library.utoronto.ca/covid-19/library-health-safety

Please note the following changes: 

1) As of Monday, March 21st, masks will no longer be required in the seminary building or premises. However, please feel free to continue wearing a mask wherever or whenever you feel it would be appropriate. The masking requirement, though, will no longer be in effect.

2) For entering the building (including staff, visitors, external professors/students, contract workers), the temperature check and Covid screening will no longer be required. This is also in accordance with archdiocesan guidelines. All are encouraged to continue self-screening for Covid-19 symptoms and stay home if they have any symptoms.

3) The following is taken directly from the archdiocesan guidelines: "Starting on March 21, individuals aged 18 and older, who have received their Covid-19 booster shot and who are asymptomatic for Covid, do not need to self-isolate when they are in close contact with someone who tests positive for Covid-19 (including if the sick person is a member of their household). The self-isolations requirement is also lifted for those younger than 18 years old who are asymptomatic and who have had two Covid-19 vaccine doses. If you meet these criteria, for 10 days you must wear a mask in public, refrain from elective visits to medical settings and avoid physical contact with those who are vulnerable to Covid.

Those who do not meet the above criteria and who have a Covid-19 close contact, must continue to self-isolate according to current provincial regulations."

4) Because the University of Toronto has decided to maintain its current guidelines for the remainder of the semester, we will continue to maintain our previous Covid-19 guidelines regarding external students and their vaccination status. They will not be required to wear masks while in the building.

[NB: The above guidelines do not apply to the SAS library, as University of Toronto guidelines will likely have to be more strictly followed there.]
